Joseph Preston was born on July 28th, 1816 in Botetourt County, Virginia.1 Joseph Preston's father was HENRY Bolton and his mother was Nancy Mann. His paternal grandfather is HENRY BOLTON. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named Henry, George, William Henry, John, Absolum Dempsey, Daniel, James Madison, David, Margaret, Martha, Nancy Landon, Christiana, Elizabeth Ann and Ely Ann. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named JACOB, Peter, Elizabeth Sherry, Catherine, Mary and Sarah. He died at the age of 71 on December 28th, 1887 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was buried in Plank Cemetery, Little Sycamore Creek, Claiborne Co. Tn..1 1
