Richard was born in August 1878 in Lonoke Co., Arkansas.1 Richard's father was Daniel Louis Bailey and his mother was Selina Chloe Eaton. His paternal grandfather was Richard Patton Bailey and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Ann Rineheart. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Louis Arthur, Levi, Sam, George, Joshua W., Clara Jane, Demaris, Adaline and Mary J.. He is the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
