Jeremiah was born on March 9th, 1745 in Louisa Co., Va. Jeremiah's father was Robert YANCEY and his mother was Temperance DUMAS. His maternal grandfather was Jeremiah DUMAS and his maternal grandmother is Unity LACEY. He had two brothers and a sister, named Charles, Robert and Martha. He was the youngest of the four children.
