General Scott was born on December 20th, 1861 in Kanawha Co.,West Virginia. General Scott's father was Franklin P Thaxton and his mother was Charlotte Lanham. His paternal grandparents were David Franklin Thaxton and Martha Hurt. He had a brother and four sisters, named James D. J., Martha A., Sarah A., Nancy J. and Margaret S.. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died in Sissonville, Kanawha, WV.-
