Jane C. was born on September 20th, 1815.1 Jane C.'s father was John Winston Payne and her mother was Mary Gilliam. Her paternal grandparents were Tarleton Payne and Elizabeth Winston. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Tarleton Fleming, John W., Emily C., Elizabeth Winston, Susanna G., Ann O., Mary T., Barbara W. and Caroline B.. She is the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
