Elizabeth Winston was born on June 30th, 1811 in , Goochland, Virginia.1 Elizabeth Winston's father was John Winston Payne and her mother was Mary Gilliam. Her paternal grandparents were Tarleton Payne and Elizabeth Winston. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Tarleton Fleming, John W., Emily C., Susanna G., Jane C., Ann O., Mary T., Barbara W. and Caroline B.. She was the third oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 61 on April 17th, 1873 in , Goochland, Virginia.-
