Maude McVey 
Maude was born on July 1st, 1882 in Kanawha Co., WV.1 Maude's father was John Lewis McVey and her mother was America Virginia Jenkins. Her paternal grandparents are James McVey and Phoebe Higginbotham; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Robert Jenkins and Martha Booker Fore. She had nine brothers and a sister, named Sanford S., Edgar, Fred, Earnest H., Robert E., Melvin, Albert M., John B., Walter B. and Ida Mae. She died at the age of 82 in May 1965 in Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV. She was buried in Spring Hill Cemetary Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV.1 1 General Notes

Maude worked all her life in kanawha county as a book binder.She attendedSacred Heart Catholic Church. She tried to keep up with the Jenkinsfamily and their lineage as best she could. Her only child was Elizabethand she married a man with the last name of James and I think it wasArch and they lived in South Charleston WV. Elizabeth Zoll James was anurse and she did at one time in the 60s work at the Charleson GeneralHospital. Elizabeth and her husband never had children as I know of. I doknow that the Bartlett Burdette Funeral Home in Charleston was in chargeof her(maude) service at her death. I remember her well and she appearedto be quite an intelligent lady,and this was echoed by most everyone. Ido know that she had remarkable memory for names and numbers anddates,especially the Jenkins Family.
