John B. McVey 
John B. was born on March 30th, 1886 in Kanawha County WV.1 John B.'s father was John Lewis McVey and his mother was America Virginia Jenkins. His paternal grandparents are James McVey and Phoebe Higginbotham; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Robert Jenkins and Martha Booker Fore. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Sanford S., Edgar, Fred, Earnest H., Robert E., Melvin, Albert M., Walter B., Ida Mae and Maude. He died at the age of 84 on May 23rd, 1970 in St Pertsburg area of Florida.1 General Notes

John was never married or had children as far as anyone knows of. Heworked most of his life for the Jones Laughlin Steel Co in Pittsburgh Pawhere he was a captain on a river boat for them. He retired to StPetersburg FL where he remained until his death.Early in his life herelated to most of us how he was a very heavy drinker and being a verylarge man he had to have his trousers made and always had one hip pocketmade large enough to hold a fifth of whiskey. He turned his life aroundand started living the good life and not drinking in his later years.
