Isaac B. Hoover 
Isaac B. was born on December 9th, 1824 in near Martinsburg, Blair Co., PA. Isaac B.'s father was John Hoover and his mother was Elizabeth Brumbaugh. His paternal grandparents were Johann Adam HUBER and Catherine Kramer. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named George Brumbaugh, John B., Catherine, Susannah, Elizabeth, Mary, Barbara B., Christina Brumbaugh, Annie and Esther. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 41 on August 21st, 1866 in Douglas Co., KS.1 General Notes
Garmon DARON, a long-time HOOVER family genealogist, had put together some of the first info on Isaac and had it printed in the form of a booklet "HOOVER Cousins by Dozens, Descendants of Isaac B. HOOVER, Pioneer Resident of Douglas County, Kansas", intended primarily for family reunions. The 5th Edition, updated by J. Sylvan HOOVER of Wichita, KS. was printed in 1991 but has essentially the same info as Garman had in his 1972 version as far as the SNOWBERGER line is concerned.
In this booklet he has that Thelma Elizabeth SNOWBERGER ZERBEE was born 6 AUG 1910. Apparently Isaac B. HOOVER married Anna (or Anny) LONGENECKER in his early twenties. ... Anny died soon after the birth of Elizabeth. Garman states that "Anny and Mary Ann were probably first cousins".
About this time they moved to Hagerstown, IN. where they were near Isaac B.'s sister, Mary. ... In 1855 these two families left for Kansas with several other families. An account of this trip and other experiences in Kansas is covered by Elmer Leroy CRAIK in "A History of the Church of the Brethren in Kansas" (1922). Dr. CRAIK was the husband of Jacob ULRICH's great grandaughter, Elva Rosetta MILLER.
