Eleanor was born about 1311 in Grismond Castle, Monmouth, Monmouthshire, England.1 Eleanor's father was Henry Plantagenet and her mother was Maud De Chaworth. Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Crouchback Prince Of England and Blanche Of Artois; her maternal grandparents were Patrick De Chaworth and Isabel De Beauchamp. She had a brother and five sisters, named Henry "of Grosmont", Blanche, Maud Of Lancaster, Isabel, Joan De Lancaster and Mary. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
