Gersenda II Of was born about 1180 in Sabran, Spain.1 Gersenda II Of's father was Rainou of Forcalquier and her mother was Gersende of Forcalquier. Her paternal grandparents were Rostaing De Sabran and Rosine De Uzes; her maternal grandparents were William IV Of Forcalquier and Adelaide De Beziers. She was an only child.
