Richard (Copped Hat) was born about 1313 in Arundel, Sussex, England.1   Richard (Copped Hat)'s father was Edmund Fitzalan and his mother was Alice De Warrenne.  His paternal grandparents were Richard I Fitzalan and Alasia De Saluzzo; his maternal grandparents were William De Warrenne and Joan De Vere. He had a sister named Aline.  He was the older of the two children.  He died in Arundell Castle, Sussex.  He was buried in Lewes, Sussex.1 1
