Stephen was born about 1216 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.1   Stephen's father was William Longespee Prince Of England and his mother was Ela Fitzpatrick Countess Of Salisbury.  His paternal grandparents were King of England Henry and Eleanor Of Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were William Devereux and Eleanor De Vitre. He had three brothers and five sisters, named William, Richard Longespee Canon Of, Nicholas, Isabel, Petronella, Ida, Ela and Lora.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died in 1260 in Sutton, Castor, Northampton, England.  He was buried in Lacock, Wiltshire, England.1 2

‌Stephen and Emmeline De were married in a religious ceremony about 1239 in <, Amesbury, Wiltshire, England>.2   They had two daughters named Emmeline de and Ela.
