Henry was born about 1066 in Dijon, Burgundy, France.1 Henry's father was Henri Duke Of Burgundy and his mother was Sibylle Countess of Barcelona. His paternal grandparents were Robert I De Bourgogne and Helia De Semur; his maternal grandparents were Ramon The and Gisela De Lluca. He had a brother and a sister, named Eudes and Beatrix. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died on November 11th, 1112 in Astorga, Galicia, Spain. He was buried in Braga Cathedral.1 1 General Notes

ing into Spain. While he was there, he married Teresa of Castilla, an illegi-
temate daughter of King Alfonso VI of Castilla and Leon, the king of the Cid.
The county of Portugal was part of her dowry, so Henri settled down & became

The Conqueror Of Portugal was born on July 25th, 1110 in Guimaraes, Villa de Guimara, Braga, Portugal and his baptism took place in 1112 in Portugal - aka Afonso Henriques Count of Portugal.1 He died at the age of 75 on December 6th, 1185 in Mosteiro Decelas, Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal.
