Jonathan's father was John Whitcomb and his mother was Frances Cogan.  His maternal grandparents were Henry Cogan and Joane Boridge. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Josiah, James, Job, John, Robert, Catherine, Abigail, Mary and Joane.  He died before February 25th, 1691 in Lancaster, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts.1
