Catherine was born in 1624 in England.  Catherine's father was John Whitcomb and her mother was Frances Cogan.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry Cogan and Joane Boridge. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Josiah, James, Job, John, Jonathan, Robert, Abigail, Mary and Joane.

‌Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on December 25th, 1644 in Scituate, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts.1
