Rufus Winfield was born on August 10th, 1880 in Pike Co., AL.1 Rufus Winfield's father was William Cain Smart and his mother was Addie Catherine Reeves. His paternal grandparents were William Edward Smart and Avis Driggers. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James Walter, Edward Flowers, Vannie Lee and Addie Isabelle. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 75 on September 26th, 1955 in AL. He was buried in Greenhills Memorial Park.
