Robert Lindsey was born on December 20th, 1852 in AL.1 Robert Lindsey's father was Robert Lindsey Scott and his mother was Laura Ann Lewis. His paternal grandparents were John Baytop Scott and Mary Elizabeth Coleman; his maternal grandparents were Dixon Hall Lewis and Susan Elizabeth Elmore. He had a brother and three sisters, named John Archer, Laura Virginia, Eliza Elliott and Claride Vernon. He was the youngest of the five children.
