John Archer Scott 
John Archer was born on October 25th, 1850 in Lowndesboro, Lowndes Co., AL.1 John Archer's father was Robert Lindsey Scott and his mother was Laura Ann Lewis. His paternal grandparents were John Baytop Scott and Mary Elizabeth Coleman; his maternal grandparents were Dixon Hall Lewis and Susan Elizabeth Elmore. He had a brother and three sisters, named Robert Lindsey, Laura Virginia, Eliza Elliott and Claride Vernon. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 17 on November 18th, 1867 in Galveston, TX.1 General Notes
