Dona Carl was born on May 24th, 1887 in Pike Co., AL.1 Dona Carl's father was Stephen McDonald Rushing and her mother was Martha Sylvester Edwards. Her paternal grandparents were William Cain Rushing and Mary Ann Rushing. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William Jack, Herbert H., Eddie Oscar, Grover Cleveland, Earnest J., Lavenia S., Alma P., Lenora L. and Lilla May. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 30 on January 4th, 1918 in Pike Co., AL. She was buried in Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery, Pike Co., AL.1 1 -
