Sarah Louisa was born on September 14th, 1856 in MS.1 Sarah Louisa's father was Francis Marion McEwen and her mother was Lena Olive Ransome Melton. Her paternal grandparents were Jasper Kirkham McEwen and Mary Ann Canada; her maternal grandparents were Jesse Mercer Melton and Nancy E. Worrell. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Jepe Kirkham, John Thomas, George Robert, William Sanford, Benjamin Franklin, Frank Houston, Susan B., Nancy Josephine, Mary Ann Katherine and Ida Lee. She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 69 on January 22nd, 1926 in Shelby Co., AL. She was buried in Wilsonville Cemetery, Wilsonville, Shelby Co., AL.1 1 -
