Her paternal grandparents were Robert Bort McEwen and Rachel Hawkins; her maternal grandparents were Jesse Canada and Sarah Jones. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Francis Marion, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Jasper, Elizabeth Amanda, Almeda Emaline, Minerva Rachel, Virginia Caroline, Martha Margaret, Newton Canida and Sarah Louisa. She was the second oldest of the thirteen children. She died about 1924 in Washington Community, Pontotoc Co., MS. She was buried in Cook Cemetery, Washington Community, Pontotoc Co., MS.1 1 -
