Elizabeth Amanda was born on August 6th, 1826 in Gwinett Co., GA.1 Elizabeth Amanda's father was Jasper Kirkham McEwen and her mother was Mary Ann Canada. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Bort McEwen and Rachel Hawkins; her maternal grandparents were Jesse Canada and Sarah Jones. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Francis Marion, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Jasper, Mary Ann, Almeda Emaline, Minerva Rachel, Virginia Caroline, Martha Margaret, Newton Canida and Sarah Louisa. She was the oldest of the thirteen children. She died about 1869 in MS.1 General Notes
