He had six brothers and six sisters, named Sam, Greenbury Hale, Young, Issac Marion, John A., Doctor Franklin, Lucy Ann, Mary Ann, Delila Jane, Sarah Elvira, Emily Frances and Martha Karen Paralee. He was the second oldest of the thirteen children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Monore, Archibald E., Margaret, Alabama, Alice Blanche and Melissa Eugenia.
