Elmore was born on January 29th, 1882 in New Waverly, Walker Co., TX.1 Elmore's father was James Adam Hill and her mother was Mary Elmore Lewis. Her paternal grandparents were John Hill and Sarah Taylor; her maternal grandparents were Hamlin Freeman Lewis and Mary Martin Elmore. She had six brothers and four sisters, named William Lewis, John Elmore, Hamlin Lewis, James Albert, Joseph Robertson, Franklin Harper, Mary Scott, Lucy, Sue and Lilea. She was the third youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 91 on September 8th, 1973 in Huntsville, Walker Co., TX. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Huntsville, Walker Co., TX.1 1 -
