Mary Susan Elmore 
Mary Susan was born on May 12th, 1842 in Charleston, SC.1 Mary Susan's father was Franklin Harper Elmore and her mother was Harriet Chesnut Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were John Archer Elmore and Mary Ann Sarah Saxon; her maternal grandparents were John Taylor and Sarah Cantey Chesnut. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named John Taylor, Franklin Harper, Jr., Albert Rhett, Sally Cantey, Harriet Chestnut, Mary Singleton, Ellen Sophia, Caroline Cornelia, Harriet Chestnut, Grace Brown and Rosa Ann. She was the third youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 80 on August 23rd, 1922 in Florence, SC. She was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC.1 1 General Notes

DEATH COMES TO MRS. MARY ELMORE TAYLOR
BODY WILL BE CARRIED TO COLUMBIA TOMORROW FOR THE FUNERAL SERVICES THERE
Mrs. Mary Elmore Taylor died late yesterday afternoon at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. J.W. Brunson, Jr, near the city, after an illness
extending for over a year. She was in her eighty-first year. The body
will be carried to Columbia tomorrow morning and the funeral services
will take place at the Presbyterian church there at 4 o'clock tomorrow
afternoon. The interment will be made at Elmwood Cemetery.

Text: Mrs. Mary Taylor Dies at Ripe Age
Last of Five* Daughters of Franklin Harper Elmore --Funeral This afternoon
Mrs Mary Elmore Taylor, last of the five daughters of the lamented
Franklin Harper Elmore, died Wednesday in Florence at the home of her
son, Albert E. Taylor, and will be buried this afternoon in Elmwood
Cemetery, Columbia, after funeral services at the First Presbyterian
Church.
This group of sisters, remarkable for character and mentality, was
remarkable also for longevity, the four last to pass away of the five
having each attained to more than four score years. The other sisters
were Mrs. Thomas Taylor, Miss Ellen Elmore, Mrs. Cornelia Davidson, and
Miss Grace Elmore.
