Albert Rhett was born on October 23rd, 1843 in Charleston, SC.1 Albert Rhett's father was Franklin Harper Elmore and his mother was Harriet Chesnut Taylor. His paternal grandparents were John Archer Elmore and Mary Ann Sarah Saxon; his maternal grandparents were John Taylor and Sarah Cantey Chesnut. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named John Taylor, Franklin Harper, Jr., Sally Cantey, Harriet Chestnut, Mary Singleton, Ellen Sophia, Caroline Cornelia, Harriet Chestnut, Grace Brown, Mary Susan and Rosa Ann. He was the second youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 71 on March 11th, 1915 in ?. He was buried in Gainesville, FL.1 1 -
