William Thomas was born on March 7th, 1833 in Bertie Co., NC.1 William Thomas' father was John Hardy Cobb and his mother was Harriet W. Castellaw. His paternal grandparents were John Cobb and Sarah Capehart; his maternal grandparents were John Dawson Castellaw and Zilpha Spruill. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Samuel Alexander, Leonard Decatur, John Charles Warren, Monroe Clinton, Simon Amherst, Robert Davis, Sarah Frances, Zilphia, Mourning Adeline and Harriet Ann Justina. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 65 on November 30th, 1898 in ?.1 -
