Susan Jane was born on September 25th, 1850 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Susan Jane's father was William Bridges and her mother was Delila Jane Jacks. Her paternal grandparents were William Bridges and Mary Tatum; her maternal grandparents were John Jacks and Jane Maxey. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Alvin Lafayette, John William, Mary, Martha A., Frances S., Mariah Elizabeth, Cordelia and Clementine. She was the third oldest of the nine children. Mrs. Susan J. Culver Died Sunday Morn
Mrs. Susan Jane Culver, 84, one of Coosa County's pioneer citizens,
died Sunday morning at one o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bud
Miller.
Funeral services were held from Flint Hill church Monday afternoon at
two o'clock with Rev. E. B. Pickett officiating.
Surviving are four girls, Mrs. Eck Bates, Mrs. Beulah Wilson, Mrs.
Lula Miller, and Mrs. Ruby McSwain; and seven boys, Bud, Frank, Asa, Edd,
Will, Arrie, and Homer Culver.(1)

My wife is the great-grand daughter of Susan J. Culver (nee Bridges). We
were visiting her Aunt Elsie McConatha in Sylacauga, looking for some old
pictures. I believe there were some old lithographs of a Bridges or two.
