Godfrey DE VERDUN 
Godfrey was born in 0967. Godfrey's father was Count/Count//Count Godfrey "the Captive" D'ARDENNE and his mother was Matilda VON SAXONY. His paternal grandparents were Count/ Gonzalon OF BIDGAU and Oda OF METZ Uda; his maternal grandparents were Duke/Count Hermann Of Saxony BILLUNG and Hildegarde DE WESTERBOURG. He had a brother and three sisters, named Gonzelon I "The Grand", Adelheid, Ermentrude and Regilla.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
They had a son and a daughter, named Frederick II and Regilinde.
