Matilda VON SAXONY 
Matilda was born in 0929. Matilda's father was Duke/Count Hermann Of Saxony BILLUNG and her mother was Hildegarde DE WESTERBOURG. Her paternal grandparents were Billung OF SAXONY and Frederunda. She had a brother and a sister, named Herman Billung and Swanhilde. She died at the age of 79 in 1008.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
They had two sons and three daughters, named Godfrey, Gonzelon I "The Grand", Adelheid, Ermentrude and Regilla.
