Adelheid was born in 0953 in Ardenne, France. Adelheid's father was Count/Count//Count Godfrey "the Captive" D'ARDENNE and her mother was Matilda VON SAXONY. Her paternal grandparents were Count/ Gonzalon OF BIDGAU and Oda OF METZ Uda; her maternal grandparents were Duke/Count Hermann Of Saxony BILLUNG and Hildegarde DE WESTERBOURG. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Godfrey, Gonzelon I "The Grand", Ermentrude and Regilla.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
They had two daughters named Gerberge OF LOWER LORRAINE and Ermengarde Adelaide.
