John Pepper 
John was born on January 19th, 1826 in Assian, Allegany Co, NY. John's father was Jacob Riley Pepper and his mother was Susan Taylor. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Stephen V., Philetus, Jacob Riley, Elnathan, Betsy, Emaline, Clarissa, Lovina, Aurillia, Susan and Mary Lucinda. He was the second oldest of the twelve children.
