Mary Caroline was born on December 24th, 1856 in Liverpool Township, Fulton County, Illinois.1 Mary Caroline's father was Alvin Oliver Pollitt and her mother was Emaline C. Estes. Her paternal grandfather was James Pollitt; her maternal grandparents were Lewis Estes and Anna Farris. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Oliver P., John A., James L., Alexander, William Henry, Charles H., Laura Ann and Dora Josephine. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at 8 months old on September 6th, 1857 in , Fulton County, Illinois. She was buried in September 1857 in , Fulton County, Illinois.1 1 -
