James L. Pollitt 
James L. was born on July 17th, 1855 in Liverpool Township, Fulton County, Illinois.1 James L.'s father was Alvin Oliver Pollitt and his mother was Emaline C. Estes. His paternal grandfather was James Pollitt; his maternal grandparents were Lewis Estes and Anna Farris. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Oliver P., John A., Alexander, William Henry, Charles H., Laura Ann, Mary Caroline and Dora Josephine. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 on December 31st, 1940 in Canton, IL.1 -
