Eupheme was born in 1188.  Eupheme's father was High Steward Alan II De Hesdin Of Scotland and her mother was Margaret De Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were High Steward Walter I De Hesdin Of Scotland and Eschyne De Molle; her maternal grandparents were Lord Fergus De Galloway and Elizabeth Joan Fitzhenry Of England. She had three brothers named Simon, Walter III and David.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Avelina.
