Edward, known as The Black Prince, was born on June 15th, 1330 in Woodstock Palace,Oxfordshire,England.1   The Black Prince's father was King Edward III Plantagenet Of England and his mother was Phillipia De Hainault.  His paternal grandparents were King Edward II Plantagenet Of England and Princess Isabelle (The Fair) Capet Of France; his maternal grandparents were Count William V De Holland Of Hainault and Joan De Valois. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Lionel, Edmund, Thomas, John, Isabella, Joan, Margaret, Mary and Blanche.  He died at the age of 45 on June 8th, 1376 in Westminster,Middlesex,England.1 


The Black Prince's family with Countess Joan Plantagenet Of Kent

‌The Black Prince and Joan were married in a religious ceremony on October 10th, 1361.2   They had two sons named Edward and Richard II.
