Elizabeth was born on August 4th, 1809 in Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset County, PA.1 Elizabeth's father was Henry B Whipkey and her mother was Elizabeth Keefer. Her paternal grandparents were John Jacob Whipkey and Elizabeth Hurraw; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas Kieffer and Elizabeth (Kieffer). She had seven brothers and five sisters, named David, Henry B, Johnathon H, Solomon, Joseph, Simon, Abraham Marion, Hannah, Eva Ann, Marian, Joanna and Anna Elizabeth.
