Martha Whitaker

Martha was born about 1742 in Of, Halifax, NC.¹   Martha's father was John Whitaker and her mother was Martha Gough.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Pyland; her maternal grandparents were William Gough and Alice Thacker. She had seven brothers named Robert, Richard, James, John, Gough, Dudley and William.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
