John Whitaker

John was born about 1722 in ,Of, NC.¹   John's father was John Whitaker and his mother was Martha Gough.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Pyland; his maternal grandparents were William Gough and Alice Thacker. He had six brothers and a sister, named Robert, Richard, James, Gough, Dudley, William and Martha.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died on August 26th, 1781 in ,Halifax, NC.¹
