James Whitaker

James was born about 1722 in ,Of, NC.¹   James' father was John Whitaker and his mother was Martha Gough.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Pyland; his maternal grandparents were William Gough and Alice Thacker. He had six brothers and a sister, named Robert, Richard, John, Gough, Dudley, William and Martha.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died in 1784 in ,Kershaw, SC.¹
