James Surguine Phipps 
James Surguine was born on May 29th, 1809 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 James Surguine's father was William Phipps and his mother was Sarah Erwin. His paternal grandparents were Joshua Phipps and Hester Aston; his maternal grandparents were Edward Erwin and Mary. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Edward Ervin, Joshua, William Pitt, Thomas Milligan, Wesley Asbury, Fletcher Watson, Mary, Hester Or Hattie Aston, Elizabeth Sarah, Margaret, Wilma Or Willie Ann and Sarah Jane. He was the sixth youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 64 on January 8th, 1874.1 -
