Mary Jane Moody

Mary Jane was born on August 26th, 1842 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹ Mary Jane's father was William Hunt Moody and her mother was Mary Edna Childress. Her paternal grandparents were George Moody and Hannah Pope; her maternal grandfather was William Burton Childress. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Adam L., James C., John A., William Lane, Martha Edna, Frances E. and Hannah Ellen. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had seven half-brothers named Dewitt Clinton, George E., Thomas S., Joseph W., Wesley, Benjamin D. and Bluford T.. She died at the age of 59 in 1901.¹
