Dewitt Clinton Moody

Dewitt Clinton was born on October 29th, 1853 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹ Dewitt Clinton's father was William Hunt Moody and his mother was Byer Whaley. His paternal grandparents were George Moody and Hannah Pope; his maternal grandparents were Lester Whaley and Sarah. He had six brothers named George E., Thomas S., Joseph W., Wesley, Benjamin D. and Bluford T.. He was the oldest of the seven children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Adam L., James C., John A., William Lane, Martha Edna, Frances E., Mary Jane and Hannah Ellen. He died at the age of 67 on November 16th, 1920.¹
