James C. Moody

James C. was born on February 22nd, 1830 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹ James C.'s father was William Hunt Moody and his mother was Mary Edna Childress. His paternal grandparents were George Moody and Hannah Pope; his maternal grandfather was William Burton Childress. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Adam L., John A., William Lane, Martha Edna, Frances E., Mary Jane and Hannah Ellen. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had seven half-brothers named Dewitt Clinton, George E., Thomas S., Joseph W., Wesley, Benjamin D. and Bluford T.. He died at the age of 73 on January 9th, 1904.¹
