His paternal grandparents were John Worthy and Elizabeth Riddle; his maternal grandparents were Kinnith Murchison and Catherine McIver. He had two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Elizabeth, Margaret and Catherine (Katie). He was the youngest of the four children. He died in Near Jonesboro, NC.General Notes
