Elizabeth was born on April 23rd, 1813 in Moore County, Nc. Elizabeth's father was James Worthy and her mother was Jennet Murchison. Her paternal grandparents were John Worthy and Elizabeth Riddle; her maternal grandparents were Kinnith Murchison and Catherine McIver. She had a brother and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Kenneth Henderson, Margaret and Catherine (Katie). She was the oldest of the four children.
