William Spears 
William was born in 1837 in North Carolina. William's father was Kindred Spears and his mother was Sylvester Brantley. His paternal grandfather was Willis Spears. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Joseph, Mary, Rebecca and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the six children.-
