James Spears 
James was born about 1700 in Nansemond County, Virginia. James' father was James Spears and his mother was Ann Doughtie. His paternal grandparents were John Spears Doctor and Joan Mendenhall; his maternal grandfather was Doughtie. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Mourning and Sarah. He died in 1761 in Edgecombe Co., NC.
