Joseph Spears 
Joseph was born in 1844 in North Carolina. Joseph's father was Kindred Spears and his mother was Sylvester Brantley. His paternal grandfather was Willis Spears. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, William, Mary, Rebecca and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
